Hair. Everyone has it, well I guess some people are bald. Anyways, there are many different varieties: curly, straight, wavy, black, brown, blonde, red, etc. You can change the color of your hair, but you can’t change the texture. From personal experience, I can tell you curly hair is not all the time the easiest to deal with. I decided to write about what I experience as a natural curly head. I am sure other curly heads can relate.

1. Frizz…not just a little frizz, a lot of frizz.

Sometimes you unwillingly look like the Statue of Liberty. Other times your hair resembles a lion. The poof is real! Either one is a struggle to deal with, unless that is your hair goals.

2. Spending tons of money on hair products.

Every curly headed girl needs a little mousse and a little gel to contain that mane. Depending on how thick that head of hair is, you can go through a bottle a month. Not to mention you have to keep trying all kinds before you find the product that gives you the perfect bouncy curls that you strive for. Hey, these are natural curls, though, the products just contain all the frizz and lion action. P.S. Fructis is the best!

3. Don’t brush! You’ll ruin my curls!

Every curly headed girl is or SHOULD be afraid of a bristle brush. I sure am. My mom used to do my hair in the morning before school. She would put it in a nice curly ponytail and then brush it with a BRISTLE BRUSH. Bye bye curls, hello puffy tail! COMBS are a curl's best friend. I honestly don’t even own a brush.

4. People love curly hair.

There is never a shortage of compliments about curly heads. “Your hair is beautiful, is it natural?” That is the most common one I hear most of the time. Girls with curly hair take a minute to accept the true beauty behind their curly hair. Growing up was a struggle for me because I hated my hair, but now I love my hair because it’s a hell of a lot easier to throw in some gel than straighten the afro. Compliments always make it easier to accept your own hair. Every person with curly hair at one point in their lives wished they had straight hair. Don't deny the curl, WORK IT.

5. You find curly strands of hair all over the place!

In the shower, on your pillow, on your clothes, not to mention all over the ground. The funny thing is when you're the only one with curly hair and someone sees a hair on the ground “Ewww there’s a stray hair!” and it’s clearly yours because it literally looks like a super skinny curly fry, but you try to blame your friend with the straightest blonde hair ever. It’s fine. You don’t have to be embarrassed, though, OWN THAT HAIR.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
