5 Things I Hope You Did This Thanksgiving Break

If you don't do these things, you're doing it wrong.

I don't know about you, but Thanksgiving break is a Godsend for a college kid like me. It is the perfect time to rejuvenate so you can go back and kick finals where the sun doesn't shine. These are the five basic activities that are on my to-do list.

1. Sleep. A lot.

The rumors were true. College truly is the most exhausting, stressful, yet fun time all mixed together. Do your body a favor and get some much-needed rest.

2. Hug your dog

This is the most important thing, honestly. I totally understand the whole emotional support animal movement because that little fur ball brings me so much joy and you just need to get one so you can relate and we can be annoying together.

3. Eat so much

hey girl, you deserve it. We have worked hard this semester so treat yourself and eat that pie, or seven. Bikini body season isn't for a while so we have time to get back on that grind, don't you worry.

4. Answer annoying questions

Yes, unfortunately, it's that season where family gatherings obviously take place and you are going to be asked a million questions about school, your relationship status, and your 10-year-plan after graduation. Try to keep a positive attitude and use this opportunity to catch up with family. So yes Grandma, I am still single!! But also I missed you a lot, homegirl.

5. Be thankful

Well of course I'm gonna be cliché and tell you guys to remember what this holiday is all about and to be thankful to the big man upstairs for the people around you and the quality time spent. So, go do all of these things because I said so! Have a great Thanksgiving and eat lots of turkey!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
