5 Teen Sensations Before And After Fame Hit Them In The Face

When I was a little kid I had two very different personalities: the rebellious middle child who only wanted to say "no" and the wannabe pop star. Most of the characteristics were shared, but I had two different idols for my different personalities: Hannah Montana and Britney Spears. Now, 20 years after I was born, the two worlds are colliding again. So many teen stars such as Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, and more, have moved past their innocent role model-esque teen lives and moved on to bigger and edgier images, following in the footsteps of the infamous Britneys or Madonnas of the world. As I reflect on who these stars have turned into, I see a pattern forming. Teenagers who grew up in the public eye always end up trying to go against everything that they once stood for, or at least appeared to stand for. Miley is no longer Hannah Montana, and Justin is no longer that kid on YouTube. It is unclear why these teen celebrities have chosen to ditch their respectable personalities for something a bit more...mature, but I can dig it.

5. Zayn Malik

The former member of One Direction released his first solo and music video and he is definitely no longer the cute British boy that we all once knew and loved from "X-Factor." He went from "damn, boy" to "damn, bae."

4. Selena Gomez

Well, she is not a wizard anymore. The star of the Disney Channel classic "Wizards of Waverly Place" has moved on and as you can tell, is embracing it. Werk it.

3. Justin Bieber

Oh, Bieber. There is not much to say for him except that like good wine, he gets better with age. Much better.

2. Miley Cyrus

My personal favorite transformation. I was always a big Hannah Montana fan, but even more so, I was a Miley fan. Starting with "Can't Be Tamed," I knew that I always liked her. She is proud of who she is, and she embraces her sexuality. Amen, sister.

1. Demi Lovato

This is real, this is...hot. The former "Camp Rock" star has ditched her front bangs and turned banging. Most of her body confidence comes after fighting an eating disorder during her Disney days, so this is why Demi makes the top of my list. Her transformation may be intense, but she owns it.
