Everyone wants to go on a vacation. Whether it be in the summer, or any other time of the year. Most of us have bills and other obligations for our cash. Sometimes we have to budget down to the penny to ensure we will have money to spend while on our excursions. Here are a few of the many struggles we know to be true.
1. The weeks of packing your lunch for work so you can conserve cash.
For the weeks leading up to you vacation you know you only have one check left until your trip begins. Packing your lunch for work can be a serious downer to the day. Having a salad for ten days straight is depressing. You sit by and watch your coworkers eat that delicious fast food, and you sit back and stare while you angrily eat in envy.
2. Collecting loose change for extra cash.
We've all been there. Hoping that eventually all the change we have collected over time will equal out to being some grandiose amount of money we've been hiding from ourselves. Constantly placing pennies from the ground and cherishing every fifty cent tip you can. Praying by the day before vacation is will miraculously turn into $100!
3. Forcing everyone you are going on vacation with to plan it out so you can map out how much will be spent every day.
You become a tyrant of planning out each day. Allowing you to figure out how much you need for each day. On day one you need at least $75 to cover food and this attraction, on day two you need around $65 for food and random spending. Your friends may get annoyed, but this info is vital.
4. Having to eat fast food while on vacation so you can still do fun things.
Yes eating McDonald's while in a new place can be disappointing, but just embrace it. It's only one meal. Just pump yourself up for dinner at that fancy pizza place. Think about the many things you will be able to use that cash for as well. What ever you have left over can be used to be spent freely. Clothes, shoes, accessories, and random items. They are most definitely worth the wait.
5. Talking yourself out of buying things on vacation that you really really want.
That dress was super cute, but your wallet is secretly crying at the price tag. You try it on and try to justify to yourself that you really want it, but its only day two of four. You regretfully put it back, but tomorrow when you can hit up the Aquarium your heart wont hurt as much. Live for the memories made doing the things you penny pinched for.
When you finally return home you will relish in the fact you got to leave every day life for a few days. Nothing is better than spending time with people who make you enjoy life. You wont look back on how much you got to spend, it will be more about the memories made. Swimming in the dark and seeing your favorite child experiencing new things will be what you cherish. Memories are worth more than any item you could ever purchase.
Happy Vacationing!
