Some of us have finished midterms. Others are taking them. The remainder is waiting for the grades. One thing is true for everyone--regardless of the midterm stage in which we stand. There are five definite feelings we all know, and the following gifs represent them better than anything else.
1. The beginning: we all think we can do it, or at least pretend.
2. Stage two: we realize that the midterms are here--and nothing we have covered in class is still in our brains.
3. The middle of midterms: we go hard.
Studying, note taking, more studying, Quizlets, review packets, study guides...they all exist, and they all must be done at the exact same time for optimum studying. And yes, that means without sleep.
4. After the test: unless you're a lucky person who walks out of the exam with extreme (and deserved) confidence, you're Hilary Duff. For once, we don't want to be her.
5. The finale: suddenly the midterms are over, the studying has ended, and the sleep has resumed--at least a little bit. We survived, and that is all that matters.
The middle of the term is hard enough to overcome, but throw in all the tests--it's unbelievable. But you know what? We all survive.
