1. "The Feeling"
Justin’s duet with Halsey brings a different vibe to the album. The rhythm is lighter than most of the other songs, and the beat is more off-tempo. The chorus "Am I in love with you/Or am I in love with the feeling?" is incredibly catchy and reflects a dilemma that I imagine most people encounter at some point in their lives. The lyrics are well-written and Bieber and Halsey’s voice combine perfectly to give them a voice.
2. "Sorry"
This song is popular for a reason: it’s insanely catchy. The electronic rhythm makes you want to get on your feet and dance, and the Parris Goebel-choreographed music video gifted us with the perfect moves for it: the polyswagg. If this song doesn’t get your blood pumping when the dance beat drops, I don’t know what will.
3. "Love Yourself"
“Love Yourself” brings a more mellow tone to the album. The instrumentation is kept to a minimum; Justin sings practically acapella at some points. This song is beautiful in its simplicity, yet interesting enough to keep listeners interested. It really showcases Justin’s new style through a beautiful song dedicated to a girl who has done something wrong.
4. "Where Are U Now?"
The collaboration of Skrillex, Diplo (who constitute Jack U), and Justin Bieber make for a great song with a fantastic beat. It has become an incredibly popular party song due to its strong dance beat and awesome EDM drop. The trippy music video does a great job at showing what the song feels like, with neon-colored cartoon designs flashing all over Justin’s body as he dances.
5. "What Do You Mean?"
Definitely a fan favorite, the sound of a clock ticking provides the baseline for the song, which is then accompanied by a light flute rhythm and EDM. Justin’s vocals are particularly strong in this comeback song, which vocalizes every boy’s question regarding what girls mean when they say one thing, but mean another.
