Music is such an important part in my life. No matter if I'm listening to the mainstream pop music, Drake's latest album, or alternative hits I usually obsess over; music has and continues to change my life.

With that being said, here are some of my favorite songs by artists you may or may not have heard of. I hope you can enjoy these beats as much as I have.

1. One Headlight- The Wallflowers

This song has such a catchy chorus, it's hard not to love it. Not only is the guitar stellar in this song, but the lyrics can hit you in a way you might not expect. "Nothing is forever,". For me, that line stuck. And can we all agree that The Wallflowers are completely right? You can totally, "drive it home with one headlight," but that headlight won't be broken forever. Keep pushing through whatever you're going through, things can always get better.

2. Hurts So Good- Astrid S

The title tells all-doesn't almost everything hurt so good? If this song doesn't explain how I feel everytime my heart breaks a little, I don't know what does. Of course it sucks to have your heart break, but the chase of it is exhilarating. After finding this song through the discover page on Spotify, I felt like I haven't personally connected with a song (that is also catchy with an awesome voice to back it up) than I did with this one.

3. Don't Judge Me- Chris Brown

Video

Okay, can I just start by saying this is honestly one of Chris Brown's best songs? He uses his vocals to his advantage while still creating a pop type of beat that keeps you intrigued the entire time. Not only that, but his lyrics hit home for me in high school. I have broke hearts before, had mine broken, and know of friends who have gone through the same thing. In the chorus, he sings, "It can get ugly, before it gets beautiful." In all situations, I truly think that line is totally right.

4. Wild Things- Alessia Cara

Stepping aside from the love song genre, this song is SO fun! I love the way she sends a message to a group of people. Cara sings to people who feel that they don't fit in sometimes, or just have different intentions in life rather than being popular or cool. "We brought our drum and this is how we dance. No mistakin', we make our breaks. If you don't like our eight-o-eights' then leave us alone. Cause we don't need your policies, we have no apology for being." I love this line and connected with it so much emotionally because no one should have to apologize for being themselves.

5. Heartlines- Broods

Video

Not only is this song freaking awesome, but so is this entire album from Broods. And honestly that album has change my life. But this song is so relatable in so many ways (it would take way to long to explain all of them) while also being one of those songs to blast in the car while belting your heart out.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
