6 Signs You're Over School

As the year winds down and the weather gets nicer, it can become increasingly more difficult to stay focused in school. There are times where you find yourself up at 3 a.m. working on an assignment and you’re convinced this is the night you’ll officially lose your sanity.

You’ve considered dropping out, but you ’re paying way too much money to go to college and can’t afford to have it all wasted. Regardless, here are the six signs that prove you’re over the school.

1. You could fall asleep just about anywhere

You are exhausted all of the time and could literally fall asleep at any given moment. Without hesitation the answer to, “how are you?” is simply, “tired.”

From the moment you wake up (approximately nine minutes before you need to leave for class) you are already mentally over the day ahead of you. And when you walk out of your 8 a.m. with three new assignments, the ground has never looked so appealing to take a nap on.

2. You've stopped caring what you look like

When you wake up with nine minutes to get to class, your outfit is the lowest priority. You can impress people with your look on Friday night, but on Monday morning at 8 a.m. you're rocking the hobo look.

3. You're already planning your summer vacation

Forget that paper you need to write or test you need to study for, there are far more important things to consider. Like, "where is the best place to get a killer tan?" or "where can I escape reality?"

Of course planning your summer trips are an efficient way to occupy your time.

4. You can't function without coffee

You need coffee at 7 a.m. up until 11 p.m. and sometimes even later. It's the only way most people can get through their day and it's a reason most student’s are broke, too.

5. You’ve lost all effort on assignments

This is what you’re 10-page paper (that's due tomorrow) looks like. You’ve spent more time googling tips for how to make your paper seem longer than you have actually spent writing the actual paper itself.

6. You’ve looked into becoming a stripper

It has to be so much easier than school, right? It’s fine, we’ve all had that thought before and there’s no judgement.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
