If you are like me, you probably like the idea of a vacation but don't always love the thought of sitting on a chair on a beach for a whole week.

Don't get me wrong, I love a relaxing break, but sometimes I like a little more activity on my vacations. Many of y'all probably think that this is insane and as much as I love visiting the beach for a short weekend, the beach and I are not always besties.

1. You hate the thought of sand.

Not only does the sand get stuck on your legs, in your swimsuit, and on your cold beverage, but it also haunts you throughout the night. You wake up and find sand pretty much everywhere in your sheets. You can never escape it.

2. You sunburn extremely easily.

Did someone say sunscreen? Because you most likely always have it on hand. Unlike most people who burn and turn tan, you fry like a lobster then peel back to your glowing porcelain skin, so you really question why you should bother laying in the sun?

3. You don't like the heat.

You never quite understand what the appeal is of sitting in the blistering hot sun and sweating to death. You never understand how people can lay like that for hours without even jumping into the water.

4. You're scared of the ocean.

The vast sea seems a little intimidating and as much as you want to boogie board within the waves, you don't like the idea of not being able to see what's under you within the murky water.

5. The beach blown hair look doesn't do you wonders.

Whether it is the salt in the air or the wind, your hair seems to grow in size every time you go out into the humidity. You never quite understand how people actually take amazing pictures by the sea.

No worries to all my fellow non-beach lovers, we are lucky to have a lot of other vacay destinations to choose from!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
