Yes it's true, I am addicted to Target. It is my favorite store and I have no self control left in me. As I start off the school year, I have noticed myself carving out time every day to make a trip to target in the midst of my busy schedule. You can buy anything and everything you could ever need there, and you become one with Target every time you shop there. So if you're anything like myself and think that you truly have an addiction, continue reading for the 5 signs to diagnose this serious problem.
1. You go there to relieve your stress
In the midst of a stressful day, or a day full of homework or work, you know that Target will solve all of your problems. Need a study break? head to Target. You know that you're bound to head there at least once a week (or four.) The sight of the red bullseye as you pull up will comfort you. If Target is your happy place to relieve your stress and put you in a better mood, you know that you're addicted.
2. It is physically impossible to walk out without buying something
There is no holding back. Your body physically will not let you step foot out of the store without buying atlas one thing (okay but really...who only buys one thing at Target?) You become so determined when you walk in that there is no possible way to walk out without the red and white plastic bag in hand.
3. "I just need to get ___" never works out how it's supposed to
Mascara? Chips? Makeup remover? No matter what, you have absolutely no self control. You have no chill, and you know it. Walking into Target is equivalent to arriving at the golden gates of Heaven. Money isn't a problem, and you're bank account doesn't even cross your mind for a split second while filling up your cart with copious amounts of unnecessary items. Just know that every single mascara that you buy will lead you to a new candle, socks, throw blanket, snacks, and other random things that you didn't even know that you needed so badly in your life.
4. Hours pass and you're still content
Even when I only buy a couple of things, I still end up roaming into the deep dark depths of the store. Your 15 minute trip turns into seven years. You could roam around forever and you probably know the store better than most employees.
5. The $1 section becomes the $20 section
Okay, I am more than guilty of buying multiple $3 plastic tumblers, $5 iPhone chargers, and $1 items that I will probably only use once. The dollar section is addicting, but prices start to add up and you know that you will hit the point of no return once you enter.
