5 Shows To Feed Your Netflix Addiction

We all have those shameless addictions that we seem to fall into when we don’t feel like doing the more important things in life that we probably should be doing. This might mean you’re a fitness addict, a chips and queso addict, or my personal favorite: the Netflix addict. It doesn’t take much to become a Netflix addict, just run across some random series that you haven’t seen yet and that will turn into a binge watching addiction leading you to series after series. Our generation has to face the fact that Netflix is a major part of the way we live nowadays and while it may classify us as ‘lazy’ or ‘boring’, at least we’re finding enjoyment in the whole point of it.

There is nothing wrong with watching what we like, when we have the time. Sometimes we just need a break from those late night study sessions, those hour long classes, or that roommate drama. It’s so nice to be able to tune the world out for a few hours (or maybe even a few days) while doing what we love. Even if you’re not a MAJOR Netflix addict, or even if you are, there are some amazing series that you should be checking out this winter when you’ll finally have the time. These are in no order because they’re all awesome and definitely worth wasting some time over.

1. "The Vampire Diaries"

If you haven't already heard, almost every teenage / 20+ something girl is going crazy over "the Vampire Diaries." This hot series is literally packed with everything: off and on love triangle, hot characters, mysterious town, bad a** vampires, what more could you ask for? What's even better is that the first six seasons are at your Netflix convenience. You'll become so addicted that you'll probably ask for all of the seasons on DVD for Christmas, like me.

2. "American Horror Story"

So, maybe AHS is a little too creepy for you but for the avid Netflix watchers that are always up for anything, this series is for you. Every season is different which is what makes this series awesome. It's like a never-ending Horror movie which is pretty much the coolest thing ever. Check out the first four seasons on Netflix so you can get up-to-speed with the current season, "American Horror Story: Hotel," featuring Lady Gaga.

3. "Reign"

Maybe you're tired of all those 'modern' day TV shows; maybe you need a little "Reign" in your life. This series is amazing and filled with great characters, a good story line going back to the 16th century, and a little bit of romance mixed with a lot of drama. The first two seasons are on Netflix, so might as well start your soon-to-be new favorite CW series asap.

4. "Prison Break"

From my experience of friends scrolling for something new to watch on Netflix, a lot of people tend to skim right over "Prison Break." Maybe they've heard it all before and don't think they have the ability to get into a show about a guy trying to break his brother out of jail. But....wait, it's so much more than that. I binge watched on this series over the summer and literally barely left my bed because I was so intrigued by this show that constantly kept me on edge. There are only four seasons (all of which are on Netflix) but it has just been made official by Fox about a returning 10-episode season coming in 2016. Be on the lookout after you finish the first four seasons.

5. "The Originals"

"The Originals," a branch off of the infamous series, "The Vampire Diaries," is an action-packed series that takes place in NOLA. Filled with your typical dose of vampires, witches, and werewolves (oh, my!), you're going to watch one episode and only regret that you didn't start watching sooner. Guess what? You can start with the first two seasons on Netflix. You're welcome.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
