5 Things We Know About 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'

Thursday morning was a monumental time for Star Wars fans around the world. The first teaser trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" dropped, and fans exploded into a frenzy. Though this isn't the much-anticipated Episode VIII, fans are excited to venture into and explore elements of the expanded universe. The movie is set to for release on December 16, 2016. Even though the trailer was short (just under two minutes long), a lot was revealed in those couple of minutes.

1. It is set between Episodes III and IV.

Though it takes place closer to the Episode IV era. The plot follows a group of rebels who are given the mission of stealing the plans for the Death Star from the Galactic Empire. Fun fact: The rebel group and their mission is actually referenced in the scroll at the beginning of Episode IV (Star Wars Wiki)!

2. Jyn Erso is the newest main character.

Jyn is the leader of the Rebel Alliance team tasked with stealing the plans for the Death Star. She has been on her own since she was 15 and has developed quite the criminal record. Some are speculating that she could be Rey's mother from "The Force Awakens" (Wookieepedia)

3. Mon Mothma makes an appearance.

Mon Mothma is the only original Star Wars character to be seen in the teaser trailer. She was introduced in the prequel trilogy and is now acting as the leader of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Because she is one of the original characters, fans are left to wonder if any other originals will make a cameo.

4. There are a bunch of new characters.

One of the coolest elements about "Rogue One" is all of the new characters that are being added to the expansive Star Wars universe. Though the original characters are beloved, these new characters bring a whole new storyline to life. There are so many possibilities for story creation because fans don't know much about these characters.

5. There is a rumor that Darth Vader will make an appearance.

According to IMDB, Darth Vader could make a cameo in "Rogue One." At the end of Episode III, fallen Jedi Anakin Skywalker dons the black armor and mask to become one of the most famous villains in movie history. Because "Rogue One" is set between Episode III and IV and focuses on the Death Star, a battle station that Vader is helping run, it only makes sense that he would be in the newest movie. Now the question is whether or not actor Hayden Christensen will reprise his role, and if James Earl Jones will provide the voice.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
