We all remember the magic of Walt Disney World the first time you stepped onto the property as a child. With wide eyes and a brand new Mickey Mouse shirt, you took on rides, character autographs books and long days of exhausting, but magical, fun. Eventually you went back home tired yet in love with the world of Disney and all of its magic. I was that little girl in a Disney princess dress running around the park getting every characters signature and going home dreaming of Mickey Mouse and happily-ever-afters.
When I got engaged at age 20, I immediately set my mind on a Disney honeymoon. After some serious convincing, my fiancé agreed to five days in Disney World. I hadn't been in 10 years, and I was pumped to relive the magic. Some people told me that Disney is not fun as an adult. I am here to tell you they are liars. I have just finished my week in Disney, and it was just as magical now as it was then. Here are five reasons why Disney is just as magical when you are an adult.
1. The Rides Are Still Awesome
No matter what age you are, "Tower of Terror" still makes your stomach jump, "Test Track" is still fantastic and all the new rides added since my last visit are just as amazing as you would expect from Disney.
2. Characters Still Make You Smile
I still hug Mickey Mouse and Eeyore happily at 22 years old. Because why not! When in Disney, let the magic take over and act like a little kid all over again who is super excited to meet your favorite characters.
3. You Can Do Whatever You Want
Disney as an adult means no parents and free reign to do whatever you want. You can swim whenever you want, eat whenever you want and stay as late as you want. It's pretty awesome.
4. You Appreciate Your Childhood More
After doing Disney as an adult, I appreciate just how magical it was as a child and how lucky I was to visit then. I also understand and appreciate some attractions more now than I did then. While the World Showcase in Epcot bored me as a child, I loved it as an adult.
5. You Get To Be A Kid Again
No matter your age, the magic of Disney never grows old. Every time I go back, it is just as magical. I get a free pass to act like a kid, sing Disney songs and hang out with Mickey each time I strap on that magic band. There is just something about Disney that truly never gets old, no matter your age.
My latest Disney adventure has just ended, and I already can't wait for my next one! See you soon Mickey and friends!
