I'm sure you have all heard of Stranger Things by now. The Netflix Original series captured our hearts and took over our Friday nights. I was skeptical at first, but ended up finishing the series in two days. It has left me craving season two, seeking out any content that has to do with the show (interviews, behind the scenes, etc.). So if you have not yet taken the plunge into Stranger Things and need some more incentive, here you go!

1. Bad-ass Female Lead

Eleven is the perfect lead for a sci-fi thriller. She has the perfect amount of crazy in her eyes and innocence in her soul. She has her powers and strengths, but her vulnerabilities are also a big part of who her character is. Eleven shows us that we can be a bad-ass super hero who still cries for her Daddy.

2. 80's Nostalgia

For lovers of The Goonies and E.T., Stranger Things will pull on your heart strings. Hell, I was born in '95 and I still feel the nostalgia. The trends, the technology, the slang; all things we miss about the 80's are present in this series.

3. Fear Factor

I don't know about anyone else, but I was scared as hell of the Demogorgan-type monster watching the series alone in my apartment. There is the perfect combination of science fiction horror, gross-factor and federal conspiracy theories to satisfy your need for fear. I would highly recommend watching this around Halloween if you can hold out that long. Some episodes definitley had me sitting on my couch like:

4. Romance Feels

No 80s television series is complete without a corny, young love romance. There are a few romantic relationships that we can follow throughout the show that are intensified in the edge-of-your-seat action scenes. This gives us something to root for, a little bit of hope for the next episode and of course anticipation for the next season.

5. Tear-Jerker

I will admit I bawled my eyes out watching the final episode of season one. There were just one too many sad plot lines going on at once, my fragile heart just couldn't take it. After reassuring my dog, Lady, that I was okay, I frantically took to the internet to grasp for any clues of season two. The emotional release that I got from the last episode left me needing more.

Me after the last episode:

Seriously, just go watch it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
