With the end of Season 2, I still feel like I haven’t been able to talk about "The Flash" enough. Right now, "The Flash" is the highest rated show on the CW, and once you watch it, you’ll get why.
1. Pleasing your inner nerd

If you have any sort of interest in science or crime shows, this show gives you some fun sci-fi and fantasy concepts that gives you some food for thought. The main character, Barry Allen, is a Crime Scene Investigator in his "normal life." His other life as The Flash however, the science behind Barry’s own power source makes for some great plot twists and episodes of his adventures. #GotSpeedForce?
Science is just really cool in general, and I feel like I’m able to vicariously live through Barry Allen’s life, in a way. A modern television show like this delivers on logical science (obviously, not always 100% correct) and the writers really do try to integrate interesting trivia throughout each episode.
2. #Relatable

Although we all aren’t likely to be hit by a particle accelerator and hit with powers of super speed, Barry’s own life struggles are relatable. Whether it’s romance, family life or even just being late to the day job, we can definitely relate to Allen’s human problems.
3. It's refreshingly lighthearted
To be completely honest, I’ve given up on one too many shows that have pulled out too many plot twists that added to all the drama in episodes. In "The Flash," I was pleasantly surprised about how each episode was well played out - not much of that "filler episode" stuff that can leave you feeling like you wasted your time.
The series is spectacularly lighthearted and fun to watch. I find that CW’s other show, "The Arrow," is taken to be more dark - but I see it as just more catered to that older audience that enjoys thrillers. Even Marvel has followed suit to release "Daredevil," a fantastic show, but also pretty dark as well. Honestly, those shows are just as awesome to keep up with, but "The Flash" has come to be a refreshingly fun show in the midst of other superhero shows that are out as of late.
4. Grant Gustin
Usually people think that all superheroes casted in a film or series are always built and super proportional. Here, the actor that plays Barry Allen, Grant Gustin, doesn’t fit that stereotype at all. Gustin looks almost like a track runner, which is obviously perfect for his character. Many critics thought Gustin was too thin for the role of Allen, even though that body type was the way the comics portrayed the character as well.
Gustin as a whole is also an all-around triple threat - some don’t know this, but before "The Flash" he also played the role of Sebastian on "Glee" as well. He can dance, he can sing and he’s a superhero? So much love.
5. Aaaand the rest of the cast (plus special cameos)
The dynamics between all of the characters are incredibly interesting. It’s nice to see diversity within each of the character’s own backstories, and each of their stories are refreshingly compelling. It really does relate to a wide variety of people in our American society. Each character’s personal storyline is intriguing and relevant, and there are definitely some moments in scenes that can pull at your heartstrings.
My favorite supporting character by far has to be Cisco Ramon, aka as some may see it, the comic relief. His jokes are always perfectly delivered and subtle enough to keep things low-key funny.
The dynamics between all of the characters lets us as an audience feel way more connected to the show and the people in it.
Give "The Flash" a try. I recommend watching while waiting for the glorious Season 3's 2016-2017 release.
