VSCO is my new favorite app that I am absolutely obsessed with. It’s almost like sheltered social media and I love it. Especially if you are a picture whore like me. This app is everything you want and more.
1. The filters are amazing.
Literally obsessed with VSCO filters, they always make my pictures look 100 times better and I end up posting 20 pictures instead of two just for the fun of choosing which filter I like the best.
2.There are no "likes" or comments.
You don't know who has seen your picture, who “likes” it, or who will comment on it and say “omg you’re so perfect” when we all know that’s just some girl you never talk to that’s saying that on social media to make herself look super nice and outgoing. It's overrated and can get annoying.
3.You can make journals.
This is my favorite part. I figured this out awhile ago but at first it was super confusing. But pretty much you can make a journal and categorize your pictures and put all the pictures you want into a journal and go back and look at them all at a later date. I made a journal of pictures of me and my boyfriend and at the beginning of my journal is pictures from two years ago and as you go through them you see all the changes that have happened between now and then. It's personally super cool to me.
4. Barely anybody uses it.
I do not know many people that use this app. Either they don’t know how to work it or don’t care to use it. But I think it is very underrated. But I almost enjoy that barely anybody uses it. It’s so different and doesn’t include all of the pressures like other social media. You just post picture that YOU like and that YOU want to see. Not for others to like and make you feel self conscious if you don’t get enough “likes” on your selfie.
5. It doesn't matter if you “double post” or it’s not the perfect selfie.
There is no limit on how many things you post and there is especially no pressure on how many things you post which makes me very happy. Social media now days is crazy. People put in their captions on Instagram, “sorry for double posting”. But why? I have never understood why it is not OK for someone to post a picture that they like and enjoy because others think it’s not acceptable. With this app there is nobody to commenting tell you not to post something. There are no “likes” for not enough people to like it so you feel like you should delete a picture you love because you did not get the adequate amount of likes like your best friend.
I just feel like social media right now is completely ridiculous and overrated. Using an app that minimizes the self consciousness of not being able to post the photos that you love and are proud of is amazing and should be used more and talked about more because it is perfect!
