Toxic relationships hold you back from the rest of your life.
They're emotionally draining and affects you in ways that you never thought they could. It doesn't matter if they're with your boyfriend, girlfriend, family member, or a best friend. All can be detrimental to one's mental health. The best way to move forward is to let go of those who are holding you back.
1. You deserve better.
It's as simple as that. No one deserves to be treated any less than they deserve. The love you receive should be a reflection of the love you give, and if you're not getting that in return, what really is the point?
You shouldn't have to fight for a spot in someone's life. Never settle for anything less than what you feel you deserve. Don't allow someone to walk all over you just because you care about them.
2. You could be missing out.
If you’re wasting time on a relationship that is nothing but toxic, and you know it's never actually going to end up working out, you could be missing out on something way better with someone else.
Why sacrifice the chance of a happy and healthy relationship that could bring you so much joy for something emotionally draining and toxic? If the cons outweigh the pros, chances are it isn't worth it.
3. You can better yourself and grow as a person.
It takes a lot of strength and courage to let go of something that is no longer fulfilling you or letting you grow as a person. In a toxic relationship, you are constantly being put down and it can really take an emotional toll on you.
By letting go of a toxic relationship, and not having it be a weight on your shoulders of that burden anymore, you can focus on yourself and grow as a person. It's healthier to focus on yourself and find happiness within you before you find it from someone else.
4. It's not benefitting your life at all.
If anyone in your life is not adding anything positive or making it better, cut them off. If all they do is hurt you and make you miserable, then you need to stick up for yourself and say enough is enough. You're worth more than that.
You have so many people in your life that want the best for you, care about you, and want to see you succeed, This person... you know, the one you're picturing in your head while reading this, clearly doesn't benefit your life whatsoever.
5. It's unhealthy.
Your mental health is so important, and people tend to overlook that. You're not going to be in your best state of mind if you are constantly worried about someone else.
If you're unhappy in your relationship, then you need to break free of that for your own sake.
