Life is filled with many people, blessings, and experiences and we shouldn’t reflect on them once a year. We should spend everyday thinking about how these things impact our lives and how they got us to where we are today on our spiritual and life journey. Although I do reflect often, I always look forward to Thanksgiving because I get to spend time with the people I love and catch up on what’s happening in their lives. I also look forward to the traditions of Thanksgiving that take place every year.
1. Food.
Although I don’t eat some of these foods, I like that there are so many options to choose from. There’s turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, rolls, pie. Some people have string beans and corn on the cob. Also, it’s the one day a year where you are allowed to eat more than you probably should.
2. Football.
Laying on the couch in a food coma and watching football is the a tradition we all look forward to. If our team loses, it’s okay because we won’t be awake to watch it happen.
3. Puppy Bowl.
Hours of puppies, toys, and a bowl cam. What more could you ask for? And where does one sign up for that referee job?
4. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Even if you find that parades aren’t exciting as they used to be, this parade is still really fun to watch and it gets people in the mood of the holiday.
5. Christmas.
Thanksgiving day is almost here which means Christmas is right around the corner. Who doesn’t love Christmas music, decorating the tree, and getting into the holiday spirit?
