Your bed is comfy and cozy. It’s your safe haven. When you slip into those covers you feel like you can put the world at bay -- it’s just you and your blankets. You’re never more comfortable than lying in your own bed wrapped in your favorite sheets, so why shouldn’t we feel like that all the time. Staying in bed all day is one of the best things in the world and truly the cure to almost anything. I personally don’t believe that anyone needs a reason to stay in bed all day but if you feel you need to justify it here are five ways.

1. You’re Sick

We can start with the obvious. Nothing helps you get over being sick more than rest and relaxation and what better place to do that but in your own bed. No matter how sick you feel, whether you sneezed yesterday or you’re hacking up a lung, better to be safe than sorry, stay in bed.

2. You Started A New Show

Netflix is calling you and there is no more comfortable place for a Netflix binge than your bed. You just started watching Gilmore Girls (to catch up for the revival of course) and you simply can’t stop. I say if you can’t beat em’ join em’. Don’t waste your energy feeling guilty about it, get back into bed and hit the next episode, I promise you won’t regret it.

3. You Were Up Way Too Late The Night Before

You’re cool and were out until an ungodly hour the night before. Maybe you were partying, on an adventure, or whatever else cool people do when they stay out late. Whatever it was, though, you shouldn’t be penalized for it. You need your sleep. So don’t think of it as wasting your day in bed, just think of it as doing your day backward.

4. You’re Going Through A Breakup

Nothing heals a broken heart better than time and your bed. Put on your comfiest pajamas, crawl into bed, and just stay there for as long as you need. Life and the world can be put on hold for a bit, you’re sad and you need this. Let those blankets act as shield and don’t come out until you’re good and ready. And even though you’ll probably still feel awful when you come out, at least you’ll be well rested.

5. You Just Can’t Deal

Life, school, work, friends, love, it can all be a little much and sometimes you just need a break. Sometimes you just need to say “I’m sorry world but I just can’t handle you today,” and that is perfectly acceptable. You can’t have it totally together all the time. We all need a break. You’re really doing the healthy thing by staying in bed all day. Throw on your sweats, grab some snacks, and pop in your favorite movie, today is a "bed" day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
