We find ourselves constantly judging others and ourselves based on social media profiles or because we're jealous of what somebody else is doing. But if you learn to be yourself and love yourself, you'll find that you'll be judging less, accepting more, and living a life that you love. Here are five simple reasons you should learn to love yourself:

1. You'll be happier

While it may be a challenge at first, it's important to take small steps towards loving yourself. Whether it's making a vision board or hanging an inspiring quote above your bed, do something to remind you what you love about yourself. Once you learn to love yourself, you'll gain a sense of confidence that you didn't know you had. With this, you'll find yourself happier with yourself and with the life you're living.

2. Good things will come

When you're confident in yourself, it is more likely that people will want to be around you and learn from you. People inevitably flock to confident people because they believe that they know what they're doing. Having confidence in yourself will lead you to be more outgoing which will create so many new opportunities for you. Sometimes it involves taking a risk, but the risk will be worth it.

3. You'll find the right people

When you send out positive vibes, you'll attract other positive people. If your lack of self love comes from being put down by the people around you, then they're not your real friends. Find the people that love and support you no matter what, the people that will pick you up when you're down, and the people that remind you why they love you for being you.

4. You'll spend less time on social media and more time on adventures

With our modern technology, people spend so much time sitting on their phones absorbed in a virtual reality. They judge themselves and other based off social media profiles. When you learn to love yourself, you'll spend less time one social media wishing you looked like that guy or were on adventure like that girl. You'll create a life that you love so much that you won't care what others are doing because you're happy with your own life.

5. There is no other you

The most important reason to love yourself is that there is no other you. You're a unique individual. Everyone faces their own struggles and nobody's life is perfect no matter how it may appear in the media. Making the most of your own life will help you feel proud of who you are and what you're doing. So be you, because you're the only you.

Finding out who you are is important. Loving yourself along your journey is just as important as loving who you become. You'll face so many experiences, some that may really change who you are. It may be hard to always find something to be confident about, but it's important to remind yourself that everything happens for a reason and once you love yourself you'll find it much easier to love others.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
