5 Reasons Pizza Is Better Than Friends

Ever since I was a child, pizza has been a part of my life. Seriously, my first word was pizza, and it was a family tradition to go to our favorite pizza joint every Friday night until I started school. So not only is pizza my favorite food, but it's like a part of me. Its cheesy goodness is incomparable, and I really can't imagine living without it. And think about it: Pizza is reliable, warm, amazing, and never lets you down. So here are five reasons pizza is better than friends.

1. Pizza will always be there for you.

When you're coming home from a night out and you're hungry, odds are the only place that's open is Papa John's or Domino's. Granted, it's not the best pizza out there, it's still got sauce cheese and bread so it works. Or when you're starving on a road trip, you know you'll drive by some pizza parlor that will hit the spot. So my point is, that no matter what, pizza will always be there for you.

2. Pizza is cheap.

Although when you add it up, I spent $457 on pizza throughout my first semester of college, a single slice is like $2. You can get so much love, for so little. And you can't ask for anything more than fantastic food that we broke college students can actually afford.

3. No one can comfort you like pizza can.

Hot pizza engulfs your stomach in a warm embrace, much warmer than your friend's half-hearted hug. Pizza does all the things that your friends can't say. It comforts you, depletes your hangry-ness, and silently answers all of your problems

4. There are so many different kinds to love and appreciate.

From plain pizza to Sicilian, or even buffalo chicken, they are all amazing in their own ways. You can even put pineapple on your pizza and it will still taste delicious. There are just so many different kinds to choose from, and it poses such a hard decision every time I walk into a pizza parlor. But that's what makes it interesting, and what makes me love it even more.

5. Pizza is not just your acquaintance, but your lifelong friend.

Pizza will never leave you behind for a new, more fun person to be with. Pizza will always love you for who you are, after years of so many amazing meals together. Honestly, pizza probably knows you better than you know yourself. You can never stop loving such an integral contribution to your happiness, because that would just be insane. So thank you pizza, for all of the memories and for all of those to come.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
