TV. You love and hate it. You might even hate that you love it. TV is something that everyone can enjoy and if you are anything like me, you watch way too much of it. TV is my addiction, my first love and one of my best friends. Here are five of the many reasons why I love TV.

1. TV is a great distraction.

There is nothing quite like the escape a good TV show can give you. When you are stressed, upset, or in a bad mood, TV can provide you with just the right amount of distraction you need to temporarily forget your problems.

2. TV is diverse.

We live in a world where TV isn't just flipping through one or two channels to find something to watch. We live in a generation where you can fire up Netflix, Hulu, or cable on the television and find diverse content to fit whatever mood you are feeling. Action, Comedy, Drama or Reality? TV has it all these days. TV is diversity at it's prime and it's only clicks away.

3. TV is a great way to pass the time.

Got an hour to kill? Waiting to meet up with friends? Bored on a rainy day? TV is a great way to pass the time. Watching a couple episodes of your favorite show is a great way to let the time pass. In my personal opinion it is the most enjoyable way to pass time.

4. Falling in love with a TV show.

There is literally nothing better than finding that TV series that you love. The series that you sit down and watch every week. The TV series that you watch develop from start to finish and yearn for it to come back with more episodes when it ends. Sometimes you might even fall in love with a series several times. The point is there is nothing better than sitting back and watching your favorite show.

5. TV is a great way to bond and connect with other people.

Almost everyone you meet in life watches TV. TV is a great way to connect with friends, family, and co-workers. TV shows can be used as a conversation starter and can help you bond with people. There is nothing truly better than sharing the experience of TV with others. Not to mention the great feeling you get when you convert someone to your favorite TV show and they turn out to love it. TV is a great way to connect with people.

Whether it's Netflix, Hulu, or good old fashioned cable, consider relaxing and spending a little time watching a good TV show. Consider using TV when you are bored and are trying to pass time or when you need a distraction from real-world problems. Fall in love with a series and share it with others. Whatever reason you choose to watch TV, love and enjoy it.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
