5 Reasons Why Living In Broward Hall Is Prime

Broward Hall, otherwise known as freshman central, is the place to be. Located in the center of campus, this building is pivotal for any freshman experience. Whether it be watching "The Bachelor" in the common area with your closest friends, or ordering Jimmy John's with your roommate, Broward Hall never fails to provide a memorable experience.

1. Location.

Broward Hall is located in the middle of all UF action. Located near Sorority Row, Turlington Plaza, and Midtown, students don't need to walk more than 10 minutes to go basically anywhere on campus. But most importantly, Broward Hall is less than a minute walk from the Marston Science Library (which we know definitely appeals to parents).

2. Broward Lobby.

The busiest place on UF's campus (second to Chipotle, of course). You'll run into the boys you danced with last night, the girls you b****ed out the night before, and the person whose bed you ended up in this morning. No matter what time of day, you're bound to run into at least one person you know on your way to class, or on your way home from a night out at 2 a.m.

3. Common areas.

Each floor in Broward Hall has a common area consisting of a kitchen, couch, TV, and table space. It is the perfect place to chill with friends and have a movie night. It doesn't matter if your friends live on different floors because that means there will always be a vacant common room to watch the newest episode of "Grey's Anatomy" in.

4. Broward Hallway pictures.

What better place is there to take a trendy Instagram picture, then right outside your dorm room. Broward Hallway pictures seem to be the newest trend on our social media feeds, but make sure to leave enough time to actually take them because your Uber is on the way.

5. Being surrounded by friends 24/7.

One of the most influential parts of your first year at a university is living in a dorm with hundreds of other students just like you. To hang out with friends, it basically consists of a two second walk down a flight of stairs. Having a night in watching Netflix is obviously always an option, but how can you turn down being with your best friends watching TV and snacking at your own convenience. Living in a dorm, you grow closer to your friends in ways that are unexplainable. By living in Broward Hall, you will create bonds that will last a life time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
