1. Declaring A Major
If you haven't done so this far, now's the time. You're in the third year and while everyone else is thinking towards graduation you have yet to figure it out. This is the year that counts. Maybe you've been undecided this long or have changed your major four times, either way they will hunt you down, find you and make you choose. So yes, lets start thinking about the rest of your lives people.
2. The bar scene
So here we are, junior year. You know what that means; we've come along enough to finally make it into those favorite college dive bars on a "thirsty Thursday." Unless of course you are one of those people lucky enough to have found the right website that sold you a scan-able fake ID, and in that case, we hate you. The college bar, we've all got one, even in a college with a population that makes up half that tiny town. This is the place to be seen and heard, and to completely embarrass yourself if you get too drunk. Enjoy every single night out, if not for yourself but for the 20-year-old's who are just dying waiting to turn that magical number. You thought you were broke and lonely before just wait until you look at your bank account after a “girls night out.”
3. Grad school
Just when you think it's all done and over with, you're hit with the ultimate decision: To go back, or to hit the ground running in the real world? I know, wasn't four years enough? The sad reality is, for most college students these days, the answer to that is a "NO!" Junior year is the year, just like high school, this is the year to make the tough decisions…yet again...or just take a year off and decide your life path later on.
4. GRE’S
If you decide that four years of torture is not enough, then it's time for the GRE’s. What are the GRE’s you ask? You thought the SAT’s were bad? Just you wait. Critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning and quantitative reasoning skills. Don't worry I’ll break it down for you. Basically the SAT’s on speed. Take high school and college and put it together folks. Oh yeah! You thought SAT’s were done and over well meet their ugly step sister. SAT’s part two juniors, except your actual future might depend on this.
5. The Mental breakdowns
Oh, the mental breakdowns are no longer few and far between. They feel like an everyday occurrence. You've never been so busy before in your life. You are right there, borderline of the real world. You have never felt so pushed and pulled in so many different directions. School, work, and a social life? Is that even possible? It's okay, embrace the mental breakdowns. You will wake up in the morning and do it all again. You will survive. Well, most of us will anyway.
