5 Reasons To Have A Job Working With Kids
Wise Geek

Working with kids is the only thing I can picture myself doing for the rest of my life. As a camp staff member as well as a future teacher, I truly believe that working with kids is one of the most important and rewarding things you can do. There are a few things that make this kind of job awesome. Here are five reasons to have a job where you work with kids.

1. It can be extremely rewarding.

Working with kids can be very rewarding. Kids often really appreciate what you do for them, even if you do not think it is that big of a deal. Even if they do not show their appreciation, seeing their faces light up when you have affected their lives positively is an awesome feeling. There is no better reward than when you know you have made a difference in a child’s life.

2. You are working with the next generation.

When you work with kids, you may be working with future doctors, teachers, engineers, artists, politicians, or even the next most interesting man in the world. You may even help them to become something great. To bring it back to our first point, it is incredibly rewarding to help shape the minds of our future leaders. Why wouldn’t you want to have a positive influence on the future of our world?

3. You can stay young at heart forever.

If you make a career out of working with kids, you never have to truly grow up. The kids will be constant reminders to have fun, keeping you young at heart. Plus your job will feel more like an awesome adventure rather than work. You may grow old, but the kids will make sure you never fully grow up.

4. Kids think that you are a lot cooler than you actually are.

To the kids that you work with, you are one of the coolest people in the whole world. You may become a role model to them and they will want to be just like you. Just being older than them instantly makes them think much higher of you. The fact that you work with them makes you the most awesome person they have ever met!

5. Kids are just better than adults.

You could go get a job where you have to deal with adults all day. A job where you need to deal with people who will never fully appreciate what you do. However, you could also get a job where you work with kids. A job where your “customers” will be grateful that you are there for them. Kids are just so much better to work with than adults are.

Whether you are a teacher, camp counselor, babysitter or anything else, working with kids is the best job in the whole world!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
