Admit it, we all do this.

5 Reasons It's Okay To Talk To Yourself

Does it ever occur to you that you talk to yourself at random times of the day? I know I notice it in myself every second of every day. At first, I thought it was a bad thing because everyone would question me, then I began to think about it and believe it or not it's actually okay to talk to yourself. Here are some reasons why:

1. Your intelligence level surprisingly increases.

I did not know this myself until I read this said photo. Then I actually believe it is the reason my grades got better over time this year. When I don't talk to myself my mind will shut off and make me do stupid stuff. So I am satisfied this fact is accurate.

2. You can always give yourself compliments.

You found an outfit, put it on, took a selfie of you wearing it and no one else seemed to care about your personal opinion. Or you finally woke up not feeling the need to put makeup on and just feel naturally beautiful(if any girls ever have those days). Not everyone is going to notice like you are, and even when they do notice and tell you, you will tell yourself you agree with them and probably no one else.

3. Sometimes you can have intellectual conversations with yourself.

You know how you tell someone, "I was just about to tell you something/say something, but I completely forgot?" Well, you cannot do that to yourself since you will say something you needed to remind yourself for your own benefit. When someone does do that to you just tell them you're thinking, unless they saw you talk to yourself in the process, then tell them you were doing that.

4. Nothing will be awkward!

Sometimes you notice when talking to other people there are always awkward pauses between sentences. I had this happen so many times it would bug me in seconds and I either wait for someone to start the conversation back up or I randomly say stuff about the weather (the usual topic of interest). With talking to yourself there is only like, a brief second of thinking then getting back into topic. It's so much easier, you have to admit.

5. Lastly, everyone does it, there's no denying.

I accept defeat and starting admitting to people that I do talk to myself. I see others do it all the time too and half the time they'll say I won't know what I'm talking about.

If after reading this article you realize you talk to yourself and see these reasons are accurate, please, just accept defeat!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
