5 Reasons Every Girl Needs Jaclyn Hill In Her Life

Over the past year or so I have become obsessed with watching beauty-related Youtube videos. If you know anything about these, then you know the name Jaclyn Hill. If not, then you should know her. She is the makeup queen, and by far my favorite. There are many, many reasons why she is wonderful, but here are a few.

1. She loves her subscribers so much. Me and my best friend joke that we feel like we have known her for years. She is so personal and cares so much about her Youtube family. Yes, they are her family. We may not have met her, but we all cry with her. I distinctly remember crying while watching her Champagne Pop party (no shame).

2. She is so humble. I don't know if anyone will be able to fully grasp how far she has come. She literally had nothing when she started and has completely transformed her life. She knows the hard work that is required and she remains so very humble with her success. You will never hear her boast about anything she has.

3. She is honest. She will be brutally honest, even if that means people will hate her. She stands up for herself and her beliefs. She is always staying true to herself and the things that she stands for. She prides herself in her honesty, and I believe we could all learn from that.

4. She only lets positivity in her life. Don't even think about leaving a hateful comment to her or to someone else on her pages. She will block you, I promise. She 100 percent does not stand for anything that is negative and could hurt someone. She understands what words can do to a person, and she allows only positivity on anything she has control over.

5. She is so empowering. She is the definition of a hard-working woman. She loves her job and works selflessly to ensure that everyone is happy. She wants everyone to love themselves and the lives that they live. She recent collaboration with Becca Cosmetics was for her favorite cosmetic, highlighter. She spoke about how she wants that to be so much more than a highlight to people. She wants everyone to be inspired and empowered. She genuinely wants everyone to be happy with who they are. Confidence is key for her.

So weather you know of Jaclyn or not, you need to be introduced. She is truly one of the biggest inspirations to my life, even outside of the beauty scene. Slay on Jaclyn, I love you like you love peppermint, Georgie and Frankie.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
