It's no secret that cats are adorable. From their tiny paws to their adorable little whiskers, cats have an undeniable appeal.
However, it's fair to say that most men aren't nearly as cute as cats are. According to the non-existent book "Made Up Statistics", cats have an adorableness rating of nearly 96.8 percent. Compare that with the 54 percent adorableness rating of the average frat guy and we see that cats are on average 42.8 percent more adorable than fraternity men.
This isn't a bad thing, though. Here are 5 reasons why college guys all over the world need to own a cat.
1. Cats look cuter than you in bowties.
If you have a cute animal do you know what you'll get? Cute girls. It's a known fact that most women like to pet animals that they think are cute. If you're the owner of that adorable little critter then you can take him/her out in the neighborhood and be swarmed by ladies. Easy phone numbers gentlemen.
2. Cats make any profile picture better.
Whether it's Tinder, Facebook, Instagram, or even Twitter, cats increase the likability of your photos. This photo right here? Without a cat, you're left to wonder why on Earth this guy would pose like this in a pair of red scrubs. But with a cat, you don't need to wonder. It's just undeniably awesome.
3. Are you bad at gardening? Use a cat as decoration.
Gardening is hard. I takes patience, careful attention, and dedication. It also takes way too much time to do well while you're in college. But, having a beautiful garden can go a long way toward impressing women when you bring them home for the first time. Just teach your cat to lay in the garden and even if your gardening skills are terrible the girl will be impressed by your adorable cat. Plus, you can totally blame him for not having anything growing in the garden.
4. Cats can pick up more than just girls.
Not 18 years old yet? No problem. Assuming cats age at about the same rate as dogs a cat will turn 18 in a little over two and a half human years. That means they can legally by you lottery tickets and cigarettes pretty early into their lifespans. The hard part is just getting the cashier to take the money. (Author's note: I don't recommend trying this. It might not go well.)
5. Cats are much cheaper to own than dogs.
Cats don't exactly love going out to the park with you and your bros but they are considerably less expensive to own than dogs. Dogs require trips to the groomer, leashes and collars, and have noticeably higher veterinary bills. As well, dog toys and treats are more expensive and don't last as long as those on the feline variety. If you own a cat you'll have a lot more money to spend than if you owned a dog.
