The Bachelorette is absolutely addicting and I'll be the first to say that I am a dedicated member of Bachelor Nation. Every week, the exciting new drama drags me in and leaves me begging for more. Plus, the show gives us a good excuse to have wine night... Yet, when I get to thinking about the actual process, I always think to myself "how the hell do these people do it?" They must be crazy, right? Competing for one woman with a dozen other ridiculously good looking men is no self-esteem booster, unless you win. Or maybe, just maybe, it's a reality TV show that is staged and partially scripted. Nevertheless, the intentions of the men and women involved remain unknown. Are they there for fame or love? Both? Who knows, but here are five reasons that this past season (season 12) has been particularly sketchy.
1. The Weirdos that stuck around.
Yep, I'm talking about Evan. There's no shame in being labeled as "The Penis Guy." Actually, yes there is, but being an Erectile Dysfunction Specialist seems like a decently heroic occupation. Regardless, he was around forever. We all knew that he wasn't the one for Jojo. The chemistry wasn't there. Yet, she chose to keep him instead of men that she might actually date in real life.
2. The Sweethearts that didn't get a rose.
This man, y'all. He. Is. Perfect. We all knew he deserved that rose more than any other contestant. He is by far the most genuine man I've ever seen on the Bachelorette- or the Bachelor. So why didn't Jojo fall madly in love with him? Anyone could tell by their heartbreaking goodbye that there was a real connection. It makes us wonder if Jojo is just really shallow or if the whole thing is a scam.
3. The Chad.
There are three things that we learned about Chad. One, he's a meat-head protein lover. Two, he's definitely not a guy's guy. Three, he's absolutely insane. See, I can't decide if he's actually this nuts or if he was planted in the show to cause drama. There is no way that a man would threaten another man on broadcast television with murder! He's either an impostor contestant or just in it for the gig. However, he is from Oklahoma and an OU alumni, so he's got that going for him.
4. The Final Contestants.
The final three contestants- Jordan, former NFL quarterback and Aaron Rodgers younger less-talented brother; Chase, good ole' American boy; and Robby, Olympic Swimmer and Ken doll look-a-like. Out of the three, there was only one who did not have any ex-girlfriend or cheating rumors during the show. That one was Chase, who was quickly sent home. In this case, we wonder if Jojo is trying to get screwed over (again!) or if Chris Harrison hit the jackpot with his PR this season.
5. The recipient of the Final Rose
Shocker, right? The famous former NFL footballer (and cheater) gets the girl. Was there ever any real competition? How on Earth are you going to choose the only man that made you feel inferior to him? I mean, come on, Jojo. You're taking women back a few years into the deep despair of hiding in your man's shadow. Don't get me wrong, I want them to work out, but I think this relationship was fueled with status and lust. I don't blame the girl, but I don't believe it was the best choice. We shall see.
Although, this season of the Bachelorette was kind of sketch, I'll still be tuning in every Monday for Bachelor Nation goodness.
