Spring Break really is everything they say it is. The memories made during this week are priceless and will never be forgotten. A week at the beach with your best friends, what more could you ask for? However, once it's over, you'll find yourself experiencing that "Post Spring Break Slump". These are just a few of the realizations you'll have once you get home.
1. It isn’t summer.
This one usually hits you right when you get home and you slowly start to return to reality. Remember all those obligations you forgot about over break? Well, they are still there. Yes, I know you were just on the beach for five days and had the time of your life, but sadly, your professors don’t care. You still have those four assignments due next week and two tests that you have not studied for at all. It’s probably time to start. Once you finish these, you then realize not only is spring break officially over, but it is actually only March, and you still have a solid month and a half until summer actually starts. *Sigh.*
2. Your big spring break trip is actually over.
After months of planning, getting your group together, searching for the perfect house or condo, and the anticipation, it’s over. Just like that. In the blink of an eye, everything you have been looking forward to is finished. You lived through it. No one got arrested, hospitalized, or kidnapped (hopefully). You made it through. You lived to tell the tale of the spring break trip you have been dreaming of for months. But this leaves you asking the question, “Where did it go?"
3. You are probably never going to see your new friends again.
This is probably the worst one yet. Spring break is basically a week dedicated to meeting some pretty awesome people, people from all over. For this week, these people are your best friends. From the girl who told you she liked your bikini to the guy who let you use his beer bong to the cab driver who picked you up multiple nights in a row, these people played a huge role in your life for an entire week. But at the end of the week, you each have to go your separate ways, back to your own schools and living your normal life. Here’s to all the unforgettable memories with these rad people.
4. You are never going to drink again (for at least a week).
After consuming a few months’ worth of alcohol in five days, a hangover is an understatement. Your body aches, your head hurts, all you want is fried food, and you have three new bruises. What happened? Who ever thought this was a good idea? Oh right, me. After drinking 10 gallons of water, eating three large fries from McDonalds, and not moving from your bed for four days straight, you have finally recovered. This recovery is undoubtedly followed with the statement, “I am never drinking again.”
5. You are probably not actually in love with that guy you fell in love with.
It was just after noon. You started your day with a mimosa, and now you are heading to the beach with your girls. You saw him the moment you set foot on the beach. Tall, tan, muscular—he was everything you had ever dreamed of. If love at first sight was real, this was it. Fast forward, and your groups are hanging out. You guys talk, exchange Snapchats. This is it; you feel like you’re in a Nicholas Sparks book. However, eventually it’s time to go back home, and as Luke Bryan would say, the “spring break up” inevitably occurs. Once you are home, you realize that even though he was really attractive and the romance of the story would have been a perfect one to tell your future children, you are not actually in love.
