My mom began watching Grey's Anatomy when I was too young to understand what was happening in the show. When I was 16 I began binge watching every season on Netflix and now I am all caught up. All 12 seasons. I'm not sure if that is something to be proud of or something to be ashamed of. Derek Shepherd is someone teenagers and adults alike will lust after. With his perfect salt and pepper hair, love for wife, kids, and friends, and his knowledge that seems to go on forever, he won our hearts.

1. "It's a beautiful day to save lives."

Derek says this before he starts ANY surgery. Being a neurosurgeon, he can't afford to make ANY mistakes, and rarely does he. It shows that he is willing to save his patient's life whether it is nearly impossible or not.

2. "I'm a human being, I make mistakes, I'm flawed, we all are."

This was said in one of the most nail-biting, "on the edge of your seat" episodes where a shooter came into the hospital to torment the doctors. Derek was cornered by him and he said this, trying to get him to change his mind.

3. "I don't want 48 uninterrupted hours, I want a lifetime."

Dating nowadays is so unsuccessful. Most guys want to fool around and not settle down. Derek is the complete opposite in that he only wants Meredith and he will always want Meredith.

4. "I have a thing for ferry boats."

Okay, I have no idea why, but this quote just makes me incredibly happy. It shows that underneath his serious doctorly manner, he has a side to him that is a little quirky and sensitive.

5. "You were like coming up for fresh air, like I was drowning, but you saved me."

This just makes my heart swoon. This was very early in Derek and Meredith's relationship and it already shows how crazy he is about her. There's not much else to say about this other than, it's perfect.

Most girls dream about guys that will say these things to her when they most need it. Someone who is kind, gentle, loving, smart, and compassionate. Every girl needs their Derek Shepherd, someone who will treat them they way they deserve. It may take a lot of looking, but when you find it, it's well worth it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
