Lawrenceburg Indiana may not be the most amazing place that people want to travel too, but for those who call it "home" it can be the most interesting place to build memories. I've lived in Lawrenceburg for 20 years, and I could have imagined growing up in a different town. However, once I left for college after my senior year of high school, I never thought that I would actually miss some of the quirky things about this small river town as much as I did.

1. Going to Florence Mall was like a short little road trip.

Okay, yeah, Florence Mall really isn't that far away, but whenever I would have a free day with my friends we would go to Florence Mall and just shop. It was almost like a little break from our mall little town, but it was also a place that we were equally familiar with.

2. Some of the most fun times I had with my friends were spent late night cruising.

Lawrenceburg is the town for late night cruising. It has so many backgrounds that go throughout it, but also has a lot of main roads. It's the perfect combination of city life meets country. Driving through backroads with music blaring as loud as possible, is involved in some of my favorite memories I've ever had. But, what's a memory if it doesn't involve throwback music?

3. Golf carts. Everywhere

For those of you who actually have golf carts and ride them throughout the streets during the summer, stop. We find you extremely annoying and you literally get in the way of everything. I'm all about having fun and enjoying the summer. But, try actually walking to the places you're going. You'll find out that you'll actually live a healthier life. And safer as well.

4. People not understanding that the speed limit on US 50 is actually 45-50 mph.

The most annoying thing about Lawrenceburg, is the traffic. If you don't agree with me, then you've never truly experienced it. I can't even count the number of times I've been stuck behind someone going 35 on US 50 during rush hour. Traveling on I-275 is horrible during rush hour, but the fact that you're going slower than the speed limit on a local road makes my commute (and many others) so much longer.

5. Fall Fest is fun, but when you get older it's just expensive.

I loved Fall Fest growing up. It was the coolest place to go and play games while my parents did whatever they wanted too. However, when I left for college and came back for Fall Fest, I actually realized that it is ridiculously expensive to play a game or even just buy a funnel cake. I have some good memories there, but my bank account doesn't.

As a whole, Lawrenceburg is a great town to live in and raise your kids in. But of course, just like any other town, it has things unique to it. Not all of them are annoying or bad, but they make Lawrenceburg my home.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
