With a new year comes new resolutions. Every year people set new goals, or the same goals, for the upcoming year. Most of the time resolutions are not kept throughout the whole year. It is something people are thinking about more the first few month and then it fades away. Sometimes the resolutions may be too extreme or life gets too busy, but there are certain resolutions that can be kept. Here are 5 reasonable New Years resolutions for college students.
1. Finish papers a day in advance.
So this may sound unrealistic but if you don't procrastination as much and plan things right, your papers can be finished early. Not having to do papers last minute can give you more time to do activities you actually want to do. You may have to sit down and type more than you'd like but you'll thank yourself later.
2. Try something out of our comfort zone each month.
There is always something to do on campus. Go to something once a month that you normally wouldn't go to. Stepping out side of your comfort zone makes you stronger and you will find out what you are truly capable of after your leap of faith because life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
3. Get a certain amount of sleep each night.
Again, this may seem unrealistic for college students, but it is possible. If you plan ahead, you can know how much work to do each day and then go to bed at a decent hour. More sleep means a clearer mind and a happier life.
4. Limit your extracurricular activities.
You want to stay busy but not too busy. If you feel like you are stressed and joggling too many things, maybe give up a few extracurricular activities. I know its hard but giving up a few of your commitments means more time for homework, sleep, friends and yourself.
5. Find time for yourself.
Being social is important but find time for yourself. Being alone can help you distress. It allows you to become refreshed and ready to take on the world. You can get more done and be alone to sort our problems or just dance and be crazy. Find time for yourself more and you may be happier.
Resolutions should be something that will benefit you and make life a little better and happier. These 5 resolutions are all practical for college students and will hopefully lead to a happier, healither year.
