Growing up it was hard for me to grasp how big the world actually is. Once I was old to enough, I realized that there are all of these different places, with people who speak different languages and do different things. It all seemed so interesting and ever since then I've known that I wanted to travel. I would make lists of all the places I have been and wish that I could just keep adding to it. Luckily for me, my parents took me to a lot of amazing places within the United States. However, I still craved visiting all of the different countries around the world.

Being only a sophomore in college, I've heard that you should travel while you're young. Whether that be during college or right out of it. I, for one, want to start traveling as soon as I can. Even though I've known for a while that I'd like to travel the world, I've never really thought of the places that I would actually go to. Of course, I've had ideas here and there but what are some really good places to start off with? I've taken the liberty of finding out for myself.

So, here is a list of five amazing places you need to visit while you're young.

1. Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Rio De Janeiro is a beautiful city right on the ocean. It has plenty of beaches to lounge around on, including Copacabana Beach. There are plenty of other places to visit while there too, like the statue Christ The Redeemer. This is where the 2016 Olympics were held and where Carnival takes place, a huge festival with extravagant costumes, music, and dancing!

2. Madrid, Spain

Madrid has a lot of really beautiful architecture. One of the most famous, for both tourists and locals, is The Plaza Mayor. It was built in a symmetrical square and is considered a social hub in Madrid. If you plan on traveling here The Plaza Mayor is the perfect place to go! Especially to experience some of the Hispanic Culture.

3. Paris, France

Seeing the Eiffel Tower has to be on everyone's bucket list. Paris has many art museums, beautiful monuments, and delicious restaurants and cafes to check out. But if all of that isn't reason enough to visit then there is also Paris Fashion Week twice yearly. Make sure to plan your trip around one of those weeks because Paris is known for its fashion.

4. Amsterdam, Netherlands

There are a lot of interesting and beautiful things about Amsterdam. Like the river that flows right through the city. Here, in Amsterdam, there are a lot of historical places to visit, a couple being The Anne Frank House and The Van Gogh Museum. Be sure to check out the "coffee shops," that is, if you're into that sorta thing!

5. Boom, Belgium

Boom is a pretty small town in Belgium, but it is the home of the World's Largest EDM Festival. Over 400,000 people from around the globe attend each year! This is something I'm sure anybody in their 20s would love to experience!

Traveling while you're young allows you to grow and learn before "real life" begins. I would highly suggest traveling whenever its possible for you! These five cities are only a few of the amazing places to visit. The possibilities are endless!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
