Disney World is one of the most known theme parks throughout the world. People from all over the world come to visit this theme park in Orlando, Florida. As I visited Disney World for my first time, in 2016, I finally understood all of the hype that surrounds this magnificent theme park. I was in awe by the amount of work that is put into the theme parks. Whether it was the amount of places to eat, the resorts or even the parks themselves, I fell in love with this beautiful park. As a first-timer to the Disney Park, I was unsure of what the best places to eat were. For other first timers, I would like to inform you on behalf of a family of first-timers.

1. Be Our Guest

Be Our Guest is a castle in Fantasyland, based on Beast’s castle from the movie, "Beauty and the Beast". Now any real Belle or Beast fan would have a complete meltdown when they learn that it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get reservations for any time of day to this magnificent castle. However, as most Disney goers may not know, during the specified hours of lunch and/or breakfast, any guest can approach the hostess outside of the walkway and ask for their availability. Now, unfortunately, this is only for breakfast and lunch. The staff say they do not book the restaurant full for the purpose of giving guests the option to quick-dine. Any extra space within the castle will be used for quick service.

2. Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show

The Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is a luau that celebrates different cultures. Between the different attire, the tropical feast and the upbeat luau music, this is a can’t miss when you’re in the Disney area.

3. Chef Mickey’s

Chef Mickey’s is a delightful character dining experience. If you’re like me, it’s probably getting close to your trip and you haven’t booked this yet. Just an FYI, the last minute reservations are for seven in the morning! So be prepared to be the very first people to be at Chef Mickey’s with Mickey and his pals. As I soon realized, when you’re eating with Mickey and his pals, seven in the morning is not all that bad.

4. 1900 Park Fair

Now, depending on the morning, you are going to meet very different characters. During my trip to this fabulous breakfast buffet, I met: The Mad Hatter, Alice, Mary Poppins, Pooh and Tigger. The food for this place is delicious, and they even have an omelette station.

5. Beaches and Cream Soda Shoppe

This small shoppe is located in the Beach Club Resort has the best ice cream around. Known for “The Sink,” an extensive ice cream sundae, this shop has it all. Although their food does not hit the spot, their ice cream is what they are known for! Enjoy!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
