Are you tired of people expecting you to date the first person you meet? Do you not want to constantly text the same person twenty-four hours a day? I am with you! This is for the people that enjoy their own company. For the people that get tired of others after being around them multiple days in a row. This is for the people that are single and DO NOT want to mingle. Well, sit back and listen to the 5 main reasons being single rocks as told by the characters of ‘The Office’.

1. Being single means that you are on your own schedule.

Plans? Forget it! You can come and go as you please without worrying about scheduling time in with another person. Play things by ear! It is so much easier to not have to worry about fitting in time with someone when you already have so much on your plate.

2. You do not have to deal with fighting.

Let’s face it: not every relationship is super easy (and if you are reading this and saying that your relationship is perfect, stop lying to yourself Sally). Everything always has its ups and downs and with that, comes stress and anxiety. By being single, you have one less problem in your life to worry about.

    3. You are more able to meet new people and expand your social circle

It seems to be a trend that once people become monogamous with someone, they feel like they need to spend the majority of their time with that other person. I understand that the reason you are dating someone is because you enjoy their company, however, there is a fine line between spending time and spending all of your time. Remember that your friends are forever and it never hurts to go out and meet new people. No one has ever complained about having too many friends.

    4. No dealing with the stress, emotional toll, and responsibilities that come with dating.

Sometimes dating can be a full-time job and some of us do not have the time or energy to keep up with them. Between the dates, constant communication, and watching what you say so you do not start a fight are all many things to juggle while you are juggling your own life responsibilities. Life already places a lot of weight on our shoulders, so just imagine someone demanding so much of you on top of everything else.

    5. Become your own source of happiness!

If you are done reading this and fighting me on everything you have read, I will leave you with this one, last thought. When you are single, you learn to put yourself and your happiness first. With having your own schedule comes more alone time to sit on your couch and enjoy ‘The Office’ alone without interruptions. When you are single, you have no one else to fight with besides yourself, which extremely lessens your chances of facing arguments. Date yourself! Find out what makes you happy and look for those qualities in people! Learn to become more picky and you will probably makes friends along the way.

So go out and enjoy being single! You rock! You only need you! Listen to ‘Single Ladies’ by Beyonce and then you will feel that self love.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
