1. Mom. This one is a given. No matter how many times you talk to your mom each week, a simple text telling her you miss her will make her day. Moms are the greatest, plain and simple. Where would we be without them? They do everything they can to make your life the best it can be, so the least you can do is take five seconds out of your day to let her know how much you love her.
2. Your grandparents. For those of us who still have our grandparents around, we often forget how lucky we are to have them. Many people no longer have their grandparents and some have never even met them. If you still have yours, you know how awesome it is to have them and how much you love them. Take a second to get in touch and let them know you are thinking about them. While this one may not be a text -- a lot of grandparents haven't jumped onboard the iMessage boat yet -- call or email for a few minutes. You can bet it will make them smile, and what's better than that?
3. High school best friend. Whether you went away to different schools, or just drifted apart, let the person who was by your side through all of those awkward high school years know that you miss them. It is very easy to fall out of touch with someone you don't see every day, but just as easy to send a quick message and see how they are doing. They will definitely appreciate hearing from you and it feels pretty good to catch up with an old friend.
4. Siblings. Sometimes, we don't think to let our brothers and sisters know that we are still interested in what they are doing and that we are thinking about them. Honestly, a lot of the time we take siblings for granted, because we know that they will always be there. Whether you talk to them all the time, or barely at all, tell your siblings you miss and love them. They miss you, too, and would love to hear from you.
5. Not your old flame. We all have those times that we get to thinking about the person we used to be in a relationship with and we begin to miss them. A lot of what ifs pop into our minds and we think it may be time to rekindle what we had. Or at the very least, we want to catch up and see how they are doing. Certainly, one little text telling them we're thinking about them couldn't hurt, right? Wrong. You two ended it for a reason, so let it go. They are out living their life, so you go out and live yours. The urge to text them can be pretty powerful, but whatever you do, don't send that "I miss you" text. Instead, go out there and work on finding someone new to think about.
