There's nothing like a good viewing sesh to bring in or phase out one of the best holidays of the year. With a day as big as Thanksgiving, so many TV stations are playing movies and special holiday episodes to celebrate. Whether it be leading up to the big meal, or while you're rubbing your belly full of turkey (or ham, I don't judge) post-dinner, the best way to unwind and relax is with five of the best Thanksgiving TV episodes, saving the best for last.
'Gilmore Girls' (Season 3, Episode 9)
This one isn't too comical, but "A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving" gives you that feeling of home. In this episode, the Gilmore girls trek around town to four different Thanksgiving festivities to please all of their family and friends.
'That '70s Show' (Season 1, Episode 9)
When you watch 'That '70s Show,' you can't expect anything short of craziness and disaster. With this episode being the original holiday special, there are laughs and awkward inappropriateness surrounding Thanksgiving dinner with the gang.
'New Girl' (Seasons 1-4, Various Episodes)
The first four seasons of 'New Girl' all debut a hilarious tribute to the all-American holiday of Thanksgiving. My personal favorite is season four, episode nine which entails the loft mates each bringing a friend to the holiday dinner for someone else in the loft to have a sleepover with and cleverly called it "bangsgiving."
All four Thanksgiving episodes are listed here:
Season 1, Episode 6 (Thanksgiving)
Season 2, Episode 8 (Parents)
Season 3, Episode 10 (Thanksgiving III)
Season 4, Episode 9 ( Thanksgiving IV)
'Friends' (Season 5, Episode 8)
"The One With All the Thanksgivings" is a flashback in time to each member of the gang's worst holiday experiences. This episode gave us the iconic moment of Monica with a turkey on her head.
'A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving'
This may be deemed a 'short' or a 'special,' but it does have a 30-minute running time, therefore making it a show. This classic follows the classic Peanuts characters and their journey through the Thanksgiving holiday. As kiddy as it is, nothing can beat this episode. Change my mind.
