Whether you've missed the 90's or are just looking for something new to watch, these iconic shows will have you laughing, crying, and everything in between.
1. That 70's Show
It's 1976, in Point Place, Wisconsin. We venture down to the Forman's basement and meet Eric Forman (played by Topher Grace) with neighbor Donna PInciotti (played by Laura Prepon), stoner friend Steven Hyde (played by Danny Masterson), not-the-sharpest-knife-in-the-drawer pretty boy Michael Kelso (played by Ashton Kutcher), snobby rich girl Jackie Burkhart (played by Mila Kunis), and the foreign exchange student Fez (played by Wilmer Valderrama). Personalities as different as can be, it's interesting how they all mix so well. Hilariously made, That 70's Show is definitely a show you need in your life.
2. Boy Meets World
Heart-warming and full of laughs, Michael Jacobs' writing captures the hearts of everyone with his unforgettable life lessons shown through his characters of Cory Matthews (played by Ben Savage), Eric Matthews (played by Will Friedle), Topanga Lawrence (played by Danielle Fishel), Shawn Hunter (played by Rider Strong), and Mr. Feeny (William Daniels). And, better yet, once you've finished the seven seasons of this show, you've still got three seasons of the current spin-off, Girl Meets World, which shows their lives after graduation.
3. Friends
You've probably seen Friends on every article concerning 90s television shows, but there's a reason for that. This sitcom portrays the decade perfectly. It all begins when Rachel Green (played by Jennifer Aniston) leaves her fiance at the altar, running to old high school friend Monica Geller (played by Courtney Cox) in a coffee shop for help start a new life. In doing so, she meets Phoebe Buffay (played by Lisa Kudrow), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), and Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), the gang she joins after moving in Monica. Despite its overuse of the laugh track, this show does pull out quite a few laughs from everyone.
4. Full House
Another sitcom from the 90s just as iconic as Friends - Full House. After the death of his wife, Danny Tanner (played by Bob Saget) is faced with the job of raising his three daughters alone. Unsure if he can do it alone, he calls in the help of his brother in law and his best friend. This sitcom, similar to Boy Meets World, shows the warmth of a family with just the right amount of humor.
5. Gilmore Girls
Though this was made in 2000, Gilmore Girls still makes the list, as the show is still very reminiscent of the 90s. A show about a mother and a daughter, best friends, living in the homely town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. It's hard not to fall in love with most of these characters, the insightful mom, Lorelai Gilmore (played by Lauren Graham), the ambitious daughter, Rory Gilmore, the grumpy but caring diner man, Luke Danes (played by Scotte Patterson) and much more that you'll have to watch to find out. Beautifully written by Amy Sherman-Palladino, Gilmore Girls is one classic show you must see.
