As I have gotten older, it has been harder and harder for me to be able to just sit down and read a good book. This applies especially in the school year when I am given a lot of books to read from professors. Yet, over the summer, where there isn't much work is the time that I enjoy the most to sit down and just read some good books. Here are a list of must reads that I enjoy when I have the time to read.

1. Any of the Harry Potter books.

Growing up, I just assumed that every person read the very well known Harry Potter book series. Yet, it was a shock to me when I found out that some of my friends had never picked up the book series before. Therefore, if you haven't read these books before, they are a must read. The books are so well written that there is a whole world built after them in Universal theme park. Even though they seem long and intimidating, they are some of the best books ever written, for all ages to enjoy.

2. Shakespeare novels.

This may seem like a stretch, because Shakespeare's novels are written in old English. Yet, these books have lasted hundreds of years, and there is a reason why they have. Shakespeare transformed the way that we write, and shocked the world with his masterpieces. You would be surprised by how many pieces of writing you read that are actually based off of Shakespeare pieces. Some classic Shakespeare writing you should read include Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and Hamlet.

3. Stephen King novels.

If you are into horror movies, these novels may be good for you. Stephen King is great at writing darker novels that are very well known for being good thriller books that keep you on your toes while reading them. Two of the most known pieces of work made by King include The Stand ,and the book It that was in theaters a few years ago.

4. For romantics- Nicholas Sparks books.

There's nothing like the feeling of laying on the beach in the summer with a good romance novel in your hand. An author that does an amazing job at writing the cheesy love stories that are prefect beach reads is Nicholas Sparks. He is able to draw you in with stories of heartbreak, love, honor, and devotion in them. Some of the best Sparks books to read include The Notebook, The Last Song, and A Walk to Remember.

5. Some classic books.

Most of these authors stories are made into many different movies, and versions. The original pieces written by them are so magnificent, that they were able to inspire it all. Some examples of notable classic writers includes Charles Dickens, and Mark Twain. They wrote important pieces like Oliver Twist, A Tale of Two Cities, A Christmas Carol, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Tom Sawyer.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
