It's that time again, ghouls and boys. The time when the weather gets colder, the leaves start to die, and all things creepy and crawly come alive! It's October, or for you weirdos like myself, it's Halloween all month long. To start the season off right I've compiled a list of some of my favorite weird, gritty, and creepy videos.
To quote one of one of my favorite ghouls,
1. Panic! At The Disco "Emperor's New Clothes"
What could be better than starting the season off with a video of a devil? Brendan Urie turning into a devil while crooning in a graveyard, that's what. In "Emperor's New Clothes," we see Urie transform into the horned creature, complete with singing skulls and skeletons scattering the ground around him.
2. Bring Me The Horizon "Drown
A werewolf and a priest meet up in a mental asylum. What are they doing there? Why; being part of the concept for Bring Me The Horizon's video for "Drown!" The band is performing for the patients in an asylum when their drummer seems to come down with a little something. Will their drummer make it? Can the priest save him? Do they patients enjoy this show? Watch the riveting video to find out!
3. Thirty Seconds to Mars "The Kill"
The Shining; book and film, are one of the creepiest and most strange pieces of work out there. Thirty Seconds to Mars took note and based their video for "The Kill" off of the movie. The video is complete with some familiar scenes from the movie and culminates with the band playing a ballroom full of (living?) people.
4. Alesana "The Thespian"
It wouldn't be Halloween without something Edgar Allan Poe influenced. Alesana fills that need with their video for "The Thespian". The song is just a small part of the bigger story of their album The Emptiness, which was influenced by Poe. Complete with blood, guts, and a dead girl the video gives off the best creepy vibes any one could ask for.
5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Y Control"
Our list closes with two of the most Halloween-y things there are: mischievous children and vampires. The feisty, mischievous kids take turns flipping off the camera and chopping off limbs, destroying things with baseball bats, and with one lucky child getting the honor of turning vocalist Karen O into a vampire.
