"Prisoners" is the definition of a nail-bitter. I am always trying to find movies that leave the audience guessing until the very last minute. I mean, hey, even the ending makes you question everything. Coming from someone who has watched this movie nearly 50 times and has even wrote a paper on it - it's safe to say that I love this movie. Plus, Jake Gyllenhaal is a total babe and an amazing actor. I’d say that this movie an overall win-win.
2. Blow
If you are a Johnny Depp fan like myself, then this movie is
probably one of your favorites too. This drama is about how cocaine came into
the United States in the 70s. I’m not here trying to advocate drug use, but
this movie is seriously amazing. Johnny Depp absolutely kills it with Penelope Cruz
and together they are the ultimate power couple. If you are bored and need a little adventure in your life this summer, then I highly recommend watching this movie
if you haven't already.
3. Perks of Being a Wallflower
This movie was truly incredible. Normally, I either love the book and hate the movie or vise versa. Luckily, I absolutely loved both, even though both are slightly different. Charlie made me cry 80% of the time, but I still could not get enough. Also, who could forget the ever-so-famous quote, "We accept the love we think we deserve”. This movie will make you laugh, cry, but mostly wish that they would figure out what that damn song is called!
4. Step Brothers
Will Farrell and John Reilly will have you laughing until the
very end. There are way too many famous quotes and scenes from this movie to
even count. From Brennan and Dale creating their own business with it's very own
music video called Prestige Worldwide, to the notorious Catalina Wine Mixer
featuring Brennan singing and Dale’s drum solo; this movie is a great go-to
comedy for any day. Whether you need a laugh or are just looking for a good
time, you'll love this one.
5. Legally Blonde
This movie is a classic. Watching Elle Woods win the case makes
you feel empowered. Watching her totally dis Warner at the end feels
invigorating. Elle Woods tells it like it is (Sorry, Vivian), finds the love of
her life and proves everyone wrong by becoming a bad ass lawyer. Also, let us
not forget the wise words of Elle Woods, "You must always have faith in
people. And most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself."
