Starting May 27, 2016, Disney Channel is going to be doing a four-day Disney Original Movie marathon. Within that movie marathon are a few movies I remember far too well and wish I could find in English on the Internet all the time. These are just some of my favorites and what they're about. I'm so excited for this marathon and here's why!
1. "Pixel Perfect"
"Pixel Perfect" is about a guy, Roscoe, who creates a computer generated hologram girl for a band that they have for the lead singer. The girl gets the band a lot of fame and even a record deal, who could pass up an offer on that? But, Sam, Roscoe's friend eventually gets jealous of the hologram because she feels that he's more attracted to the hologram than Sam, and she has feelings for him. Either way, this movie is my #1 favorite. If I could find it on DVD anywhere, I'd totally buy it and watch it a billion times over and over. I'm so glad that Disney is finally playing it on a marathon. This movie is being aired May 30, 2016 at 1:30am E/T.
2. "High School Musical"
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER! I loved this movie when it came out. If you don't know this movie, you're missing out. It was overplayed, but it was a hit. It's a bunch of singing and dancing teens trying out for a musical at their high school, that's about it. It's also got a little bit of romance, like between Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. I love this movie, always have and always will. And, it will also always make me feel like I want to jump up and sing along with it. This movie is also being aired on May 30, 2016 at 4:25pm E/T.
3. "Camp Rock"
This movie is about a girl "Mitchie" who wants to embrace her musical talents and go to "Camp Rock". Unfortunately, she isn't wealthy enough to attend, so her mom offers to cater for the camp so Mitchie can attend. But, she has to also help her mom, too. This movie is also about a lot of singing and dancing, but the chemistry between Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas is unbeatable. It makes you want to go to the camp and makes you dream of such a romance. This movie is also being aired on May 30, 2016 at 6:15pm E/T.
4. "Princess Protection Program"
This movie is about a princess, Rosalinda María Montoya Fiore (played by Demi Lovato), who gets put into this princess protection program and gets relocated to Louisiana. She becomes friendly in school with a tomboy named Carter (played by Selena Gomez) and soon after she tells Carter about her situation, they become best friends. They accompany each other throughout school and teach each other about living like a normal teen and living like royalty. This movie makes you want to live the best of both worlds, but a little more like a princess. I always wanted to be one, they just seem like perfect lives to live in, don't they? This movie is a classic, and it is being aired on May 28, 2016 at 9:50pm E/T.
5. "The Cheetah Girls 2"
Even though the first "Cheetah Girls" is airing, "The Cheetah Girls 2" is definitely more watched and well known for some reason. This is the movie where all four girls get invited to a singing competition in Barcelona, Spain! During their journey and exploration of the country they meet new people, sing and dance in the streets of Barcelona, and fall in love along the way. They learn that they can't be The Cheetah Girls when one of the girls feels the need to leave and that's when they unite and come back stronger than ever! This movie is a "must see" and will be airing Friday, May 27 at 9:55 p.m E/T
6. "Halloweentown"
This is most likely one of the first Halloween movies we ever watched as kids, and it's making a come back Monday, May 30 at 11:30 a.m. E/T. This was the movie about a young girl named Marnie Piper who discovers that she's actually a witch like her grandmother. When she follows her grandmother on the bus that takes them to the actual Halloweentown, Marnie wants to learn about this new life that's been hidden from her for the last 13 years.
7. "High School Musical 2"
A little similar to the first HSM, but this time the East High Wildcats are out and about for summer. This movie includes all of the original cast but in a completely different environment. All the teens are either working or relaxing at the wealthy country club owned by Sharpay and Ryan's parents. Of course, this fun sequel includes just as much singing and dancing as the first movie, maybe even a little more! You can catch this DCOM Friday, May 27 at 8:00 p.m. E/T.
7. "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie"
If you've missed Alex, Justin, and Max Russo, don't worry because their DCOM is coming back for the marathon also! The Russo's head off on vacation but stubborn Alex doesn't want to include herself in on the family fun. While getting into a fight with her parents she wishes that the both of them never even met and that's when things start to get weird and no one remembers who they are! You can catch the Russo's adventure Saturday, May 28 at 6:15 p.m. E/T.
8. "Cow Belles"
I think everyone's favorite pair of sisters back then on the original Disney Channel were Aly and AJ and their movie "Cow Belles" will be returning for the marathon on Saturday, May 28 at 1:10 p.m. E/T. "Cow Belles" is about two sisters (who actually are sisters in real life) who are spoiled by their father. After almost burning their house down their dad decides that the two of them need experience in the real world by working in a factory. This is the movie where sisterhood, fighting, and heartfelt makeup scenes are unforgettable!
These are only eight of my top favorite Disney Channel Original Movies that I'm excited for during this marathon! Other movies airing include "Teen Beach Movie", "Quints", "Halloweentown II", "Halloweentown High", "Jump In!", "Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior", "Zapped", "The Proud Family Movie", "Twitches", "Twitches Too" and so much more! Be sure to have your DVR ready to be filled up starting on Friday, May 28 at 10:00 a.m. E/T.
