If I could pick one human being in this world that has taught me the most valuable things who would it be? Well first off, let's correct something...it would not be a human. It would be my four legged furry friend. The one who slobbers all over me, smiles at me when he or she wants a belly rub and lies on me when they just want to cuddle. Yes the answer to this question is, my dogs. Throughout the years that I've been around my dogs, they have shown me and taught me the most valuable things to know in life. The things they have taught me have managed to stick with me throughout my life. The five most valuable lessons my dogs have me are...
1. It's the simple things in life
Anyone with a dog has learned the lessons that things like designer items, clothes or shoes don't matter. They have taught us that things like taking a walk, sitting outside or eating your favorite treat matters the most. They tell you that you should enjoy the things that won't complicate your mind. Do, smell and eat things that make you happy.
2. Be loyal
All dogs have taught us to show our faithfulness to another person or them. Whether they come cuddle with us at the same time every day or wait by the door to greet us when we come home, they are consistently there. They remind us that, we should always keep our promises and commitments to the people we love the most.
3. It's ok to do something bad here and there
All dogs have taught us to take a risk every once in a while. They tell us it through chewing up our shoes, rolling in the mud or stealing our food. When they do that they're saying, "It's OK if you mess up here and there. When you mess up, you're learning your lesson to not do it again even if it takes you a couple of times to learn it."
4. Protect the ones you love
Most dogs instincts are to protect the ones closest to them. When they do that, they're telling us to stick up for the ones you love. Make sure they're not hurt when somethings going wrong. Stick by their side and shelter them from harmful things.
5. Love unconditionally
The most important of all. A dog's purpose in life is to show people they love and care. They learn do it fast because it's easy for them to care, forgive and trust the people that matter to them. That's why they live such a short life because they can love with all of their heart no matter the circumstances. They tell us to have big love and never cut it off to a certain point.
