Leonardo DiCaprio is hands down one of the best actors of all time. Not only does he entertain movie-watchers with his smooth, sensible demeanor, but he also inspires them by completely immersing himself into the life of the character he portrays. While women generally tend to fall in love with Leo’s dreamier and more romantic characters, male viewers are constantly enthralled by his mentally-crazed — but extremely animated — way of acting. No matter what the role is, Leo fits it. Ingenuity in its purest form.
Here are 5 Leonardo DiCaprio movies that are sure to change your life:
"Catch Me If You Can"
If you have not yet seen this brilliant film, I suggest you drop everything you are doing and buy it on iTunes immediately. In this 2002 movie, young Leo plays a 17-year-old genius who becomes a millionaire by basically scamming the entire country. He is a pilot who has never flown before, a doctor who has never attended med school, and a lawyer who has mastered his courtroom skills by watching old movies. If anyone was made for this role, it was Leo. He will make you laugh, he will make you cry, and he will make you want to master the skill of forging checks (but not really though).
"Shutter Island"
This movie is the perfect thriller suspense, mystery, violence and confusion ... all taking place on a dark, stormy and desolate island. DiCaprio portrays a troubled detective investigating the escape of a woman from a mental institution and prison. Like in most of his movies, we immediately trust the character Leo is playing. As the film progresses, though, we start to question the honorable and brave detective we were introduced to at the beginning. This is not an easy movie to understand at first, but I guarantee you’ll want to re-watch it a million times.
"The Wolf of Wall Street"
Leo is one sick puppy in this movie. Despite all of the drugs and prostitutes, though, this is one of his most incredible acting performances to date. Here’s a picture to summarize the movie.
"Inception"
This falls under one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time, along with "Cast Away" and "Legends of the Fall." If you want an unbelievable experience that will rock your socks right off, watch Inception. Leo is absolutely incredible in this movie, and your mind will definitely be in a million places after watching it. DiCaprio and a team of four other people delve into the subconscious mind and dreams to change major events of the past. Whether you’re a sci-fi fanatic or not, this is a must-see.
"The Revenant"
This is Leo’s newest movie, and once again he has gone above and beyond with his acting. I will not say much because the movie is still out in theaters and a lot of people still have not seen it, but know that Leo spent hours in a horse carcass to prepare for his role.
