Los Angeles is home to endless food options, from brunch to Mexican food and beyond. Here are 5 that may already be your favorites, or become the next spot on your list.
1. 800 Degrees
With Neapolitan pizzas customized and cooked in a wood-burning oven, 800 Degrees has nailed the concept of pizza. I like to call it the "Chipotle of Pizza" because you get to go down a line of ingredients, from dough to toppings, and customize your own pizza from scratch... and it is so good. They have locations in Santa Monica, Westwood, Downtown, Hollywood, and Pasadena, and they are opening a new location in Playa Vista this December.
2. Blue Plate Taco
If you like Mexican food and beach views, this is for you. Located beachside near Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Blue Plate Taco has everything from chips and guac to delicious quesadillas and margaritas. Yum. The trendy lights and sunset views are just a bonus.
3. Uncle Bill's Pancake House
If you like breakfast food and Manhattan Beach, look no further. They serve breakfast all day (shouldn't everywhere?!) and their omelettes are incredible. On top of that you can get a side of toast muffins, or pancakes (get them with chocolate chips), and it's already included with the omelette. Mind blown.
4. Joan's on Third
Joan's is a gourmet marketplace/cafe located on West Third Street and in Studio City. They have everything from fresh salads to sandwiches and baked goods. I never knew I'd actually enjoy eating a salad until I had one of theirs.
5. Simmzy's
If burgers and beer are more up your alley, Simmzy's is the spot. Located in Manhattan Beach, Simmzy's is an upbeat pub known for their awesome burgers and beyond. It's the perfect fun weekend dinner spot.
