It’s that 8 a.m. lecture that you regret having signed up for and can’t wait to be over. So you find yourself letting your mind wander into its own little world of sweet escape. The professor's voice becomes just a distant memory as you slip into one of the many things you have daydreamed about in class. Okay, so maybe it’s not your 8 a.m. class, but no matter the time, everyone has been known to do this from time to time. It usually looks like this:
The Food Daydream
This daydream is commonly caused by the person being hungry and has been known to result in their stomach making noises they're not aware of. There tends to be lots of food in these daydreams as you plan out the big meal you are going to have or imagine eating something wonderful, like pizza. The Success Daydream
This daydream tends to take place four or five years into the future, in which you have no debt, you are working your dream job and perhaps have even settled down and have a family. This daydream tends to motivate lots of people into working extra hard to achieve said daydream, and for others makes them resent the reality they are in as they sit and listen to their professor talk about the upcoming exam. The Romance Daydream
The daydream in which your crush finally notices you, or you are swept off your feet by a handsome or beautiful prince/princess. These daydreams can tend to be heart melting and make you feel all floaty for the rest of the day. Sometimes, though, you come back from these daydreams feeling rather lonely and sad. That doesn’t mean you don't hope to have the same daydream all over again.
The Back to Bed Daydream
While this is a daydream it does tend to result in people falling asleep in class, much to the disdain of themselves and their professors. These daydreams tend to start by thinking about how warm and comfortable you had been in bed compared to the hard desk chair you now sit in. Daydreams like this tend to leave you more tired than you were before they started.
How many days till the weekend?
Daydreams involving this question tend to start happening about Sunday night as you rush to finish that homework you have not done yet. These daydreams tend to revolve around what you want to do the following weekend and how you hope it will be really cool. Sometimes that means parties and sometimes that means just laying around watching Netflix.
So now you know the many types of daydreams had by students. These kinds of daydreams and the many more not mentioned have always been a fun way of passing time for students everywhere. So have a little break in class every once in a while —just remember to get your work done more often than you daydream!
