No matter who you are, even if you are the most unromantic person out there, I think everyone can enjoy a good line on love every now and then. If you’re like me and you’re a complete hopeless romantic, too much so for your own good, then I know you can appreciate one. With social media some would say romance is dead. Love sonnets replaced with Snapchat messages and love letters replaced with goodnight texts riddled with emojis. Luckily, there are a few folks out there who still have a belief in romance and are good at putting the pen to the page and writing them out. Here are a few poets you can follow on Instagram with nice lines on love and life.
1. Tyler Knott Gregson, insta: @tylerknott
I discovered Tyler Knott Gregson a couple years ago while I was scrolling through Pinterest and he quickly became one of my favorites. He has a series called the "Typewriter Series" that most of his poems come from. He also has a wonderful book called "Chasers of the Light." In the meantime though follow his Instagram, because apart from being an amazing poet he’s also a great photographer.
2. R. M. Drake, insta: @rmdrk
Only recently have I discovered R. M. Drake. I'm sure you've unknowingly seen some of his work on your Pinterest page because he's very popular on the site. I love his work, and I promise, you will too.
3. Lang Leav, insta: @langleav
Lang Leav is my all time favorite. Her words are simple, but they hit you deeply. I don't know if there is a poem of hers that I dislike. She has three books of poems out now, and a debut novel coming out soon. So be on the lookout.
4. Atticus, insta: @atticuspoetry
I like to let Atticus' words speak for him. So go check him out because he's pretty great.
5.Nikita Gill, insta @nikita_gillI love how Nikita places her words. She has a book coming out that you can pre-order, but for now her Instagram feed is open for your enjoyment.
Now that you have these great new poets to follow you can sit back and let your heart be moved by their lovely words, and maybe they'll even inspire you to try out your own poetic side. So give them each a follow, you won't regret it.
