Every Mason student knows that it is often hard to get information since Mason is such a big place and there is always so much going on. So here is my list of resources you should know about as a Mason student.
- Every student that lives on campus gets free HBOGo
In order to gain access, all you have to do is go under the HBO Go home page, sign in and under the list of providers and select George Mason University. Then you sign in with your NetID and password and you’ve got HBO go while you are connected to Mason wifi.
2. Parking services will give you a jump for free
Yup, parking services does do more than take our money and write tickets. If your car battery happens to die on campus, just call parking services and they will give you a jump, it’s “free” since it’s included in your tuition.
3. The cure for your phone's internet connectivity issues
If you have to use all your data because you can’t connect to Mason’s wifi, then go visit the tech services kiosk in the JC or go to Innovation where their headquarters is located. From my understanding, they can register your mobile device with the server manually, so that it doesn’t have to work as hard to find your mobile device, thus fixing the internet connectivity issues. I did it, and have not had a problem with the wifi on my phone since.
4. Every Mason student has access to Rosetta Stone
Through the Mason libraries, we have access to free Rosetta Stone, an award winning language learning software. Click on the link below if you're interested http://library.gmu.edu/use/tech/rosetta
5. There are tunnels connecting the buildings on old campus
I’ve been in them, so I can actually verify that they exist. They connect most of the buildings on old campus, the section of campus by the quad, Krug, East, West, and Thompson. Rumor has it that they were designed like that so one has to walk outside if it is raining or snowing.
