Here are five of the best albums from the decade of 2010. Do you remember them?
1. "5 Seconds Of Summer" by 5 Seconds Of Summer
They've never been a typical boyband, and this album really showed that. They were the perfect mix of pop, punk, and rock. They used this album to create their fan base, and they ran with it. They have created such good music since this, and have continued to show their maturing artistry throughout their careers. This album was a staple to me in 2014 and introduced me to a new area of music that wasn't my typical poppy sound. This was a great introductory album filled with so many hits.
2. "My World 2.0" by Justin Bieber
The reason why this is one of my favorite albums from the 2010s is that it was a pivotal moment in not only my life but in the music industry too. Justin Bieber has taken the world by storm and this album is a huge reason for that. So many hits including, "Baby", "That Should Be Me", and "Somebody To Love". I can't think of my childhood, without thinking of Justin in general, but this album in particular.
3. "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry
Ok, yes, this album has a lot of popular radio songs on it, but if you get the chance, go back and listen to the less popular songs. This album is so vulnerable and truthful if you really take the time to listen to it in its entirety and not just the songs that were popular on the radio. I think she speaks a lot of truth in this album that is really important.
4. "+" by Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran is the king of writing romantic songs. This album is jam-packed of them and a lot of other beautifully vulnerable songs. This album was the most accurate depiction of what he was going to do with his future career. This was the album that made him blow up and if you listen to it, you'll know why.
5. "Channel ORANGE" by Frank Ocean
This album is one of my favorites of all time, so I had to include it. I could take about this album all day long, but for the sake of not boring you to death, I'll keep it short and sweet. This piece of art is so intricate in every possible way. Between the lyrics and the reasoning behind production choices, there are a million things that make this album so unique. Frank as an artist is always creating new heights, and I can't wait to see what else he does.
